O irmão Marcus e outros missionários cristãos trabalham na reserva índia de Pine Ridge, tentando espalhar a fé em Cristo numa população que todos os anos sofre com o abandono do Governo dos Estados Unidos da América, vivendo em condições humanamente degradantes, sem empregos e com elevadas taxas de criminalidade no meio da comunidade, muitas das vezes enfrentando temperaturas de dezenas de graus negativos no Inverno sem electricidade ou gás.
